HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!  Every Halloween, I end up not knowing what to dress up as until the very last minute.  I don't like to spend lots of money on a costume I'll wear once, so I wanted to put a last minute costume together that consisted of things we already have in our closets.  I grabbed my black and white striped shirt [an all black shirt would work well, too], my favorite leggings and black boots to make a quick and easy robber costume.  I drew on my mask using eyeliner and to prevent it from drifting or smearing, I set it with a sparkly, black shadow from MAC.  I added a colored lipstain to give the outfit some spice.  Braid your hair [securing with a pretty tie] and throw on a black hat and gloves.  Get a "money bag" [I used a shoe bag from my dad's closet] to finish the look.

She's Got the Look: Victoria Beckham

Do you think she still answers to "Posh Spice"??  She really is just so posh -- even in this casual outfit.  The detail of the orange is fun and unexpected and really makes the outfit what it is.  It breaks up the sweater and the jeans in the perfect way.  This sweater is currently sold out, however you can fake it with a silky/slip top and a normal or a cropped sweater.  Scrunch up your sleeves for an effortless feel and grab a white, structured bag.  Here's to hoping to look as good as Mrs. Beckham in her London street-chic look.

Kitty Cat

My favorite animals are felines . . . like anything cat.  House cat, tiger, lion, bobcat, cougar, anything.  I've always had a kitty; currently I'm momma to Nin [see him here & here], the sweetest, coolest cat around.  I guess this outfit is inspired by him, and at the very least dedicated to him.  This sweatshirt was worn in my second outfit post, back in March [crazy!].  I love it too much to not share again and again.  Not only does it fit in my cat-loving obsession, but my grey-sweatshirt-loving obsession, too [here, here, here]!!  Anyway, nothing is more basic than a sweatshirt and jeans, but you can up the ante with a fun, printed sweatshirt and colorful jeans; making it perfect for fall.

Leather Pants

I'm love-love-loving these leatherette pants from Shopbop.  So comfortable, so leather-like, and so pretty without all the responsibility of real leather.  I think these are my new go-to black pants.  Pair your leather[ette] bottoms with a white-on-top combo and you're good to go.  Remember the episode of Friends where Ross' New Year's Resolution is to try something new everyday?  If you don't, remember it HERE, and if you do, you'll know he decides to give leather pants a go on a first date.  Here's to not getting yourself in sweaty, awkward situations in your leather pants!

Lazy Day Outfit

Some days you just don't want to get dressed and all that seems to make any sense are your favorite leggings and your most comfortable flats.  This outfit is inspired by one of those days.  Whether you're traveling, running errands or you're just staying at home, this outfit provides comfort and functionality.

She's Got the Look: Olivia III

When you dress as fabulously as Olivia, you're bound to make it onto plenty of "Best Dressed" lists.  So it's really no surprise I've featured Miss Palermo's outfits three times now.  And I'm postitive this isn't the last.  With Paris Fashion Week semi-recently closing, we look to the stars for amazing FashInso [a word I'm "trying to make happen" . . . you know, like "fetch"].  Here's what she's wore, front row, to Veronique Leroy:

Dressed up Fall

This isn't the first time and certainly not the last time I'll say this:  I tend to dress very casually.  But, sometimes occasions call for dressing up.  Now the temps have dropped, dressing up can kind of be hard [or maybe that is just me?].  Whether it be for a reception, girls night out, church, [etc...], here's how I "dress up" during the cooler fall temps:

She's Got the Look: Freja Beha Erichsen

Another off-duty model outfit to recreate.  What would we do if it weren't for these amazing models [here, here, here].  Freja Beha is definitely bundled up and weather-proofed, but oh-so-chicly!  From her slick boots to her warm coat.  I love how the silver hardware stands out against the otherwise dark ensemble.

Now to the outfit post:

I was recently in St. George at this amazing vintage/consignment store, Urban Renewal.  This shawl instantly caught my attention.  It was love at FURst sight.  I've been so drawn to leather this season, who knew I'd love the fur on top of that leather?!

Moto boots & sweaters

Such a beautiful and rainy fall day!  These pictures are brought to you from my covered lower veranda.  Sorry for the low lighting.  I am still learning how to use my camera, obviously!!  I couldn't bring myself [or to make my photog] be photographed in the rain.  Where's my dedication?!  Anyway, you should get the gist of the outfit.

boots: Steve Madden [sale!] | purse: Forever21 [old; practically the same]

Mister Green Jeans

I wouldn't call myself a solid, colored jeans kind of gal . . . until I found these.  They're the perfect color of green!  I have been so drawn to green, lately [I think that will be next manicure].  And, I realized this was my first pair of J Brand jeans.  Such a great fit, and so comfortable.  GET THEM!  Pair your dark colored jeans with a sweater-cardigan and booties for a laid-back, simple fall-ready outfit.

cardigan: J.Crew [old; similar] | booties: Forever21

She's Got the Look: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley II

Don't you wish you could be Rosie?  Seriously.  Or at least have her wardrobe [and body?]?  I love how each piece she's wearing can be appreciated because not one bit of it is screaming for the attention.  Each article of clothing, accessories included, can be noticed.  I love when outfits let the eye wander, not just focus on one thing.  They bounce from her jacket to her booties to her sunglasses, to her bag to her basic tee then to her laid-back hairdo.  Try it!!  To see Rosie's first She's Got the Look, click HERE.

B&W: take one million

I do realize I wear these pants just about everyday, but it's only because they're so comfortable.  I could seriously live in them.  Twenty-four seven.  I love this shirt; unfortunately, it's out of stock!  Such a bummer.  So, I have posted a couple similar-ish shirts.   This past weekend I was in St. George with the family and it felt almost like summer again!  I was happy to wear sandals and let my toes feel the sunshine!  But, I'll be back at fall-appropriate attire come Thursday.

Monochrome Black

I have been loving all black outfits, lately [see? here & here].  I just think they are so flattering on everyone!  Like I've said before, try mixing different textures of the same color.  THIS IS KEY!  Here I'm wearing a vegan leather tank with a long knit sweater cardigan and jeans.  By doing this you give your outfit some unified diversity.  Makes sense...yeah?  Add an interesting bag and some tan suede booties and your outfit's complete!  Have any of you tried a one-color look?  How'd it go??

100th Grey Sweatshirt

Okay, maybe not 100, but close.  If you were to look in my closet you would find at least 12 grey sweatshirts.  They're all different, but they are all very grey!  This one is very different, as it's a maternity sweatshirt.  Oops!  I couldn't resist, besides, I'll get great use out of it until I need maternity clothes.  Keeping things really basic with a beanie, leggings, and booties.  My favorite fall outfit, it seems!
